The "Super" Anti-Aging Antioxidant
Battle wrinkles, age spots, and achieve noticeably healthier, more youthful skin after just 4 weeks
Skincare research shows that aging skin is the result of more than just years on the calendar. Exposure to environmental elements like sunlight, smoke, and air pollution causes photoaging in skin. Not only does this lead to the formation of lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation - it can lead to more serious skin conditions, including skin cancer. Daily exposure to environmental elements such as sunlight, smoke, and air pollution cause chemical reactions in the skin, known as free radicals, which can lead to premature aging. Not only can this result in fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and discoloration - it can lead to more serious conditions such as skin cancer. While sunscreens play an important role in protecting the skin from UV damage, they typically only block up to 55 percent of free radicals. Antioxidants such as Vitamin C have been shown to work below the skin's surface to neutralize free radicals and protect against UV damage. |

Why all Vitamin C is not the same
With many Vitamin C products on the market today, it is important to choose a topical antioxidant serum with an effective formulation. When it comes to scientific proof behind skincare, SkinCeuticals sets the standard with published, peer-reviewed science supporting the efficacy their topical antioxidant serums.
It must contain pure L-Ascorbic Acid.
Derivatives of Vitamin C such as ascorbyl palmitate and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate are not absorbed by the skin or converted into Vitamin C in high enough concentrations to have a significant effect.
It must contain high concentrations of L-Ascorbic Acid for maximum efficacy.
A topical
Vitamin C serum must contain a substantial amount of L-ascorbic Acid while remaining stable to be effective. When formulated properly, a 20 percent concentration provides the maximum amount of Vitamin C readily absorbed by the skin.
It must be at acid pH
Vitamin C must be formulated at an acid pH below 3.5 to effectively be absorbed by the skin. As pH increases, absorption rate decreases.
We all age differently.
Freckles, age spots, wrinkles, laxity, blotchiness, mottled complexion, and even skin cancer can all be traced to sun exposure and increased free radicals, oxygen ions, and peroxides within our skin. The type and severity of skin aging depend on a combination of each individual's genetic makeup, their history of UV radiation exposure, and the intensity of that exposure. Therefore the type of antioxidant treatment needed depends on each individual as well.
ANTIOXIDANT LEADERS: PHLORETIN CF, C E FERULIC and C & AHA
However, each antioxidant works differently to better address different photo-aging concerns and skin types.
Phloretin CF Newest Breakthrough Biodiverse formulation divides & conquers sources of damage at every level |
Phloretin, the molecule
Derived from the bark of fruit trees such as apple, grapefruit, and pear, phloretin is a broad-spectrum molecule newly identified for its antioxidant properties and recently studied for use as a pigment-regulating and penetration-enhancing agent in the medical community. Phloretin's unique molecular structure is responsible for potent antioxidant activity in peroxynitrite scavenging and in the inhibition of lipid peroxidation. It also displays a wide range of bioactivity such as anticancer, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory.
Phloretin CF is optimal for:
- Diminishing age spots & other forms of hyperpigmentation
- Accelerating cell renewal
- Improving laxity
- Retexturizing Skin
- Normal, oily & problematic skin
C E Ferulic Combination antioxidant treatment containing L-Ascorbic Acid, Alpha Tocopherol, and Ferulic Acid
